Brandon Cotto Rivera(b.2000) is an Artist currently based in New Jersey. Through photography he explores themes of familial trauma and how ones memory often changes the way we carry it.
Perspectives change, memories distort and scenes begin to fade as time passes.
Some of his current photographic work involves making handheld long exposures in the night of rural New Jersey. This process allows him to capture his breathing patterns and micro-movements directly onto each negatives film plane, resulting in gestural images that feel more than just a photograph. Each image for him is a performance in and of itself.
